Coursework
The M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction is structured for working professionals. The Health Science Education specialization coursework focuses on teaching and learning and the use of instructional technology in health science settings.

Schedule
Courses are typically offered in the evenings or asynchronously for students to complete on their own time.
Core Courses
Students are required to take a total of 10 courses.
Students are required to take at least one of the following courses:
- CUIN 7391: Curriculum Development for Health Sciences Education
- CUIN 7390: Instructional Design
- CUIN 6307: Change and Diffusion of Innovation
- CUIN 7355: Team and Organizational Leadership
Students are required to take at least two of the following courses:
- CUIN 7378: Models of Teaching
- CUIN 7381: Instructional Evaluation
- CUIN 7345: Learning Theories for Instruction
- CUIN 7308: Computer-Mediated Communication
Electives
Students may select remaining courses from the following list*:
- CUIN 7305: Design, Development & Evaluation of Presentations
- CUIN 7358: Educational Uses of Digital Storytelling
- CUIN 7356: Issues in Distance Education
- CUIN 7368: Advanced Digital Imaging in Education
- CUIN 7376: New Tools for Creating Online Educational Materials
- CUIN 7389: Digital Media
- CUIN Independent Study
*Other courses may count toward the master’s degree with the approval of a student’s advisor.
Capstone Project
The capstone project consists of two components: a project design document and a narrated multimedia presentation. Students are encouraged to choose a topic related to a real-world problem or issue they can address.
