Training

Creating a culture of care is a concerted effort. We offer several trainings to help students, faculty and staff recognize the signs of mental health and support those in need.

Suicide Prevention Training: QPR , "Question, Persuade, Refer," is a nationally recognized suicide prevention program designed to educate participants to recognize and respond to the signs of suicidal thinking or behavior.

“You Can Help a Coog” training: Together, we can help to identify someone in need and serve as a protective safety net.

Mental Health First Aid is a free, 8-hour course that introduces participants to risk factors and warning signs of mental illnesses, builds an understanding of their impact, and overviews common supports. Groups can request training.

“Step UP Mental Health” Evidence-based program educates students to effectively and safely intervene in instances of potential harm.
