Cougar Cupboard
The Cougar Cupboard is a Food for Change market through a partnership between the University of Houston and the Houston Food Bank and presented by TDECU. The cupboard has a plethora of fresh fruit, vegetables, frozen and refrigerated foods available at regular intervals for students. Additionally, DoorDash services are available upon request. Students can also obtain food from the Cougar Cupboard II operated by Peeps.
UH Dining Meal Plan
UH Dining Meal Plan offers a variety of meal plan options to fit all lifestyles. The two dining halls on campus, Moody Towers and Cougar Woods Dining Commons, offer buffet-style breakfast, lunch and dinner options for individual nutrition needs.
A.D. Bruce Religion Center
A.D. Bruce Religion Center offers free meals on various days and times as part of their signature events Interfaith Dialogue Dinner and Free Wednesday Lunch, during the fall and spring semesters. Students of all backgrounds are welcome to join.

Houston Food Bank
The Houston Food Bank is the region’s largest food bank distributor and leads hunger relief in 18 southeast Texas counties. UH students enrolled in the Food Scholarship Program and signed up for the Cougar Cupboard are eligible to visit the Houston Food Bank’s many Food for Change market locations across the city.
Kids’ Meals Houston
Kids' Meals Houston can deliver meals to families with children that are 5 years old or younger.
Lasagna Love
Lasagna Love is a nonprofit organization that prepares and delivers homemade lasagnas to individuals and families in need. Requests are made online and there’s typically a wait time of two-plus weeks for the Houston area.
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is a federal program that provides nutrition benefits to supplement the food budget of individuals and families in need. Students who find themselves in an unexpected and prolonged food insecurity situation may be eligible for SNAP benefits.
United Way Houston
United Way Houston connects residents with a variety of services and resources. Whether you need help finding childcare, food stamps, care for an aging parent or a haven from domestic violence, call 211, the Texas/United Way HELPLINE.
West Houston Assistance Ministries
West Houston Assistance Ministries is a large Houston Food Bank partner who conducts regular food distributions.
