Join us for Cesar Chavez Day of Service: a morning of service in support of the Houston Community! Connect with new friends, learn more about Houston, and make a positive impact in the community. Aravind Kumar Reddy Pasunuri, teaching assistant for the HPE Data Science Institute, will present an in-depth exploration of Apptainer, a powerful containerization tool designed for high-performance computing environments.

Dr. Emden will revisit Hegel’s reflections on the political dimension of the welfare state in his Elements of the Philosophy of Right (1820). He will argue that behind Hegel’s model of civil society stands a surprisingly realistic understanding of the importance of welfare organized by the state, especially in relation to poverty, in order to safeguard civil society’s emancipatory potential.

Each year, CLASS awards numerous scholarships ranging from $500 to $2,500 to deserving students.
