Student Permits

If you will be parking a vehicle on campus, you will need to have a parking permit, unless you use one of the paid visitor parking options that are available.
Register through your myParking Account, accessible via AccessUH, and select your permit. Permits are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Students must be enrolled in classes prior to purchasing a permit.
University of Houston parking permits are virtual, so there are no plastic hangtags to mail.
Students have the opportunity to exchange their permits at any time, just as long as the permit that is desired has not sold out. Please note that student parking permits are semester only. After the 12th class day of the semester, the permit cannot be canceled for a refund.
Students can have up to three vehicles registered to their parking permit, but only one is allowed to be parked on campus at a time. If you park a vehicle on campus, you must first make sure you have added it to your parking account and it is associated with your parking permit.
Students who purchase a permit have the cost placed on their student account (fee bill).
Student parking permits are sold by the semester. Semester permits can be canceled for a refund only if done by the 12th class day of the semester. Refunds are not issued if the permit is not canceled by the 12th class day. To cancel a permit, log in to your myParking account, then click the green button that states "Cancel Parking Permit," then follow the instructions.

Parking and Transportation Services allows the use of EZ Tag (Harris Co.) or TxTag as a hands-free way to enter and exit your assigned on-campus parking garage. If you'd like to use your toll tag, follow these steps to add it to your permit:

  • Sign in to your myParking account through AccessUH.
  • Click on your name in the upper right corner.
  • Click "Manage Your Account Information" in the pull-down menu.
  • Edit the toll tag information at the bottom of the page.
  • Enter only the eight numerals in the toll tag number. Letters and special characters will prevent the tag from working properly.
Anyone with a valid UH parking permit is allowed to park in any ungated/uncovered lot on campus Monday-Thursday after 3 p.m., and anytime Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Just make sure you do not park in a restricted space, such as reserved, disabled, paid visitor and 20-minute unloading. Evening-Weekend permits cannot be used until after 3 p.m. Monday-Friday. The UH at Katy permit is only valid in Katy. The Monday-Wednesday-Friday permit and Tuesday-Thursday permit can only be used to park in the garage designated by the permit. This includes evenings and the weekend.

Faculty/Staff Permits

Faculty and staff can purchase a parking permit through their myParking Account, accessible via AccessUH.
Faculty-staff permits are paid for through payroll deduction. Faculty and staff who want to pay for their permit via a credit card must come in person to the Parking and Transportation Services customer service location. Please note that in order to be eligible for payroll deductions, you must be a regular full- or part-time employee who is paid by the university.
All regularly employed and benefits-eligible full- and part-time staff members are able to purchase a parking permit. Campus partners may also obtain staff parking permits by coming into the parking office and requesting one.
Faculty-staff may have up to five vehicles on their parking account and registered to their parking permit, but only one of those vehicles can be parked on campus at any given time.
You can exchange your parking permit at any time, just as long as the permit that is desired has not sold out.
