Admission into the University of Houston’s Dance Program is by audition only. We offer three audition dates per academic year; one in the fall and two in the spring. Students interested in majoring, minoring, or working toward the dance certification may audition prior to being accepted into the University of Houston. However, prospective students will not be allowed to enroll in dance classes until they are accepted by the University and the Dance Program.
For the 2024-2025 school year, the audition deadlines are:
- October 26, 2024
- February 1, 2025
- April 5, 2025
These dates are currently deadlines for submission of online audition materials. At this time we are only holding auditions virtually. The required audition materials are the online application form (link below) and skills videos. For the audition videos, we are asking to see your current level of ability in ballet, and modern/contemporary dance, plus one technique or style of your choice. Videos must be uploaded into the audition application form. All required information about videos can be found at the Dance Audition Video Requirements link below.
Students interested in attending the University of Houston in the spring should submit their materials by the fall deadline. Students interested in attending the University of Houston in the fall can submit their materials by any three of the deadlines.
