Michelle Girardot
Instructor, Arts Leadership Program

Michelle Girardot is a lyric coloratura soprano based in Houston, Texas, who shines in Mozart, bel canto, and 21st Century repertoire. Enjoying a multifaceted career, Michelle also works as an arts educator and administrator at the University of Houston Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts. Michelle is passionate about arts education. Currently Program Manager for Community Arts Programs at the University of Houston, Michelle joins the Arts Leadership Faculty in Spring 2025 to launch a brand new course: “Essential Career Skills for Emerging Artists.” Her work at UH aims to provide meaningful learning experiences for musicians and artists of all ages, as well as mentorship and career-development opportunities for aspiring professional artists. 

As a freelance artist, Michelle performs across a wide variety of genres; from classical to musical theatre, sacred to pop/jazz. Most recently, Michelle has performed as the Soprano Soloist in the Rutter Requiem, as the Soprano Soloist in the world premiere and album of Ēriks Ešenvalds’ Mass of the Eternal Flame, and with the Houston Grand Opera chorus. Michelle completed two degrees at the University of Houston Moores School of Music: Bachelor of Music in Voice with Minors in Marketing and German, and Master of Music in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy.
