Texas Innovates, an award-winning startup business accelerator, has joined the University of Houston’s Technology Bridge, strengthening its partnership with UH and expanding Houston’s innovation ecosystem.
Unlike the startups typically housed at the Tech Bridge, Texas Innovates focuses on accelerating companies in climate tech, energy, and sustainability.
“We are excited to welcome Texas Innovates to our innovation ecosystem,” said Darayle Canada, Tech Bridge program director of start-up operations. “My hope is that the UHTB gives them a safe place to cultivate creativity, inspire collaboration, and drive groundbreaking ideas and new startups.”
The accelerator is a non-profit organization focused on hydrogen and carbon innovation and expansion in the Houston/Gulf Coast region. Texas Innovates launched the CHILI (Climate & Hydrogen Innovation and Learning Incubator) program last month.
Launched during Houston’s Climate Week, this cohort of 10 companies is working on addressing global challenges, while Texas Innovates is helping them integrate their solutions into the regional energy ecosystem.
"Texas Innovates’ CHILI program is excited to be based at the UH Tech Bridge. The University of Houston has been an early partner and continued supporter of our innovation efforts," said Alex Rozenfeld, president of Texas Innovates.
