The University of Houston’s Technology Bridge proudly welcomes American Research Chemical (ARC) as its newest tenant, highlighting its dedication to driving forward initiatives that foster scientific research and industrial development.

Tech Bridge’s latest partnership is poised to advance the frontiers of chemical synthesis and support the development of new technologies with wide-ranging applications.

With more than 40 years of experience across its personnel, ARC aims to be a trusted partner in air- and water-sensitive chemical synthesis and a leading supplier of high-quality inorganics and organometallics that can be used in national and academic laboratories, nanotechnology, microchip manufacturers and polyolefin production.

“ARC is focused on helping our customers by acting as an extension of their own research and development capabilities by supplying custom synthesis services with a focus on air- and water-sensitive chemistry at the gram to kilogram scale,” ARC Chief Executive Officer Glen Alliger said. “In this way, we bridge the gap between laboratory and commercial scales, and help accelerate our customers’ journey to market with their technology.”

ARC's business strategy revolves around creating a modern, safe working laboratory equipped for air- and water-sensitive chemistry on scales ranging from milligrams to kilograms. By employing specialized equipment such as gloveboxes, vacuum lines, and specialized glassware and reaction vessels, ARC ensures the safe and efficient handling of air- and water-sensitive compounds.

With a vast industrial market for ARC’s products – which encompass activities ranging from early-stage research to pilot-scale work requiring kilos of a single compound – Alliger said the decision to partner with Tech Bridge was an easy one thanks to top-tier amenities and an environment that constantly sparks innovation.

“We are excited to be a part of the Tech Bridge community for a lot of reasons,” he said. “Tech Bridge offers world class facilities that are difficult or impossible to find elsewhere and enables early-stage enterprises to develop their business alongside other start-ups focused on exciting technologies. This makes for a vibrant, stimulating environment that we can’t wait to participate in.”
