University of Houston (UH) Student Housing & Residential Life (SHRL) is pleased to announce Jarayon Jackson as the associate director of residential life. In this role, Jackson will manage the unit’s assistant directors and residential life coordinators to cultivate programming and engagement opportunities for campus residents.
Jackson joined the department in November 2023, having previously served as an assistant director for summer operations/university housing at the University of Louisville in Louisville. Additionally, her experience in higher education includes roles at North Carolina Central University, Mississippi Valley State University, and Middle Tennessee State University.
“As the new associate director of Residential Life, I am excited to contribute to the environment of student housing at UH,” said Jackson. “I hope my energy will be contagious while I assist SHRL staff and residents with growing and becoming positive change agents in the university, community, and the world.”
Jackson holds a master’s degree in education, administration, and supervision from Middle Tennessee State University and a bachelor’s from Spelman College.
