Career Highlights:

Sara Sands is an instructional associate professor in the Master of Public Administration program at the Hobby School of Public Affairs. She has a Ph.D. in Politics and Education from Teachers College of Columbia University and a Master of Philosophy from the University of Cambridge. Her undergraduate degree is in political economy and English from Tulane University. Sands is an accomplished program administrator with more than a decade of experience supporting public and nonprofit sector organizations to identify, train and retain high-quality teacher leaders, school leaders and educational systems leaders.

The Louisiana native worked in the private sector before returning to academia, serving as a research and data manager in the New York City Department of Education and consultant with the Carnegie Corporation of New York. She also worked with the Leadership and Teaching to Advance Learning program with the Carnegie Corporation.

Sands is the co-founder and co-producer of Liberal Arts MBA, an education management organization specializing in livestream programming.
