The University of Houston (UH) is proud to announce the launch of a comprehensive new website dedicated to supporting pregnant and parenting students. This dynamic online resource is thoughtfully designed to empower students by offering seamless access to essential information and a wide array of supportive services, both on and off campus.

Credit for the development of the website goes to the Pregnant and Parenting Student Taskforce, an interdisciplinary team comprised of campus leaders, student and academic affairs professionals, and parenting students. This collaborative group worked together to ensure the platform addresses the diverse needs of UH’s pregnant and parenting students and reflects the university’s commitment to holistic, student-centered support.

Navigating the demands of higher education while managing parenting responsibilities can be challenging, but UH is committed to providing the resources necessary to help students thrive. Our new platform serves as a one-stop hub where students can easily explore a diverse range of services that address their unique needs. From academic accommodations and financial aid guidance to on-campus childcare options, health care services, and more, the site connects students to the tools they need to balance their academic and family commitments effectively.

Beyond campus resources, the website also highlights valuable community-based programs throughout the Houston area, ensuring students have access to comprehensive support networks that extend beyond the university. This integration of on-campus and community resources reflects UH’s dedication to fostering an environment where every student feels supported and valued.

Associate Vice President of Student Affairs and Dean of Students Donell Young said, “The new Parenting Student Website serves as a vital communication tool that fosters engagement between the university and student parents. It provides essential information on academic resources, events, financial aid, and student support services. The goal of this website is to enhance the overall student experience and promote a supportive UH community. I would like to thank the Pregnant and Student Parent Taskforce for all their hard work and continued dedication to the UH community.”

At the University of Houston, we recognize the importance of a holistic approach to student success. We invite you to visit the new Pregnant and Parenting Student Resource website here to learn more about the programs, services, and initiatives that make UH a welcoming place for all students.
