Houston, TX – September 2024 – The University of Houston’s Associate Dean of Students from the Division of Student Affairs (DSA), Dr. Sara Jahansouz Wray, has been invited to serve as the keynote speaker at MD Anderson's Professional Development Conference on Emotional Intelligence, scheduled for September 19, 2024. This prestigious event, hosted by MD Anderson’s Department of Pain Management and Anesthesiology, focuses on the critical role of emotional intelligence in healthcare and professional development.
Dr. Wray, a nationally recognized expert on emotional intelligence, mental health, and harm reduction, brings a wealth of experience to her role. In addition to her role as Associate Dean for the DSA, she is a sought-after speaker with ForCollegeForLife, where she delivers impactful presentations on emotional intelligence, recovery, mental health, and harm reduction. Dean of Students, Donell Young, J.D. said, “Sara is an experienced higher education professional that brings years of experience and proficiency in the fields of student success and student development. I am amazed by Sara’s continued commitment to the UH Community. She is the ideal team member. Sara has been active in the Division of Student Affairs through various involvement opportunities and volunteering positions, including leading the Student Conduct and Policy team, DOS Student Ambassador program and facilitator for the Managing Disruptive and Student sessions. I am thrilled that she is apart from the Dean of Students Team.”
