The Center for Student Involvement (CSI) proudly hosted its annual Campus Leaders Awards Ceremony, honoring the exemplary contributions and achievements of its student leaders. The event, held on April 8, 2024, recognized over 20 outstanding individuals and registered student organizations who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and service within the university community.
Highlighting the spirit of volunteerism, 24 exceptional students were awarded the prestigious President's Volunteer Service Award. Collectively, these students dedicated an impressive 6,630 hours of their time to various community service initiatives, showcasing their commitment to making a positive impact beyond campus.
The ceremony, attended by more than 150 guests, including faculty, staff, students, and family members, served as a testament to the vibrant and engaged campus community at the University of Houston.
Katy Kaesebier, director of the Center for Student Involvement, said, “the Campus Leaders Awards Ceremony is one of my favorite events of the year. It is a time when folks from across campus come together to celebrate the many successes of our student leaders and organizations. I always leave the ceremony feeling inspired, and proud to work at an institution with such incredible student leaders.”
Among the evening's honorees was the presentation of the esteemed Legacy Award, the highest recognition bestowed upon student leaders. This year, the Legacy Award was conferred upon Alyssa Green, Cecilia Pham, Samantha Sadeghi, and Yasmina Dalibalta for their exceptional leadership, dedication, and lasting impact on the University of Houston community.
"The Campus Leaders Award Ceremony was an incredible opportunity to celebrate the hard work that my team and I put in all year,” said SPB President and Legacy Award winner, Samantha Sadeghi. “Being a student leader has well prepared me to pursue my passions in the professional world and beyond. I’m very thankful for the opportunity to pour back to the UH community as it has poured into me."
The University of Houston extends its heartfelt congratulations to all the awardees and expresses gratitude to the entire campus community for their ongoing dedication to fostering a culture of leadership and service.
