The new location offers expanded amenities for the University of Houston (UH) community.
The Women and Gender Resource Center (WGRC) at the University of Houston is excited to announce its relocation to a more spacious and welcoming environment in Student Center South, room B12. This move represents a significant milestone for the WGRC, as it expands its capacity to serve students and the UH community in advance of its 20th anniversary celebration next year.
The new WGRC space boasts a range of amenities aimed at providing a comfortable and welcoming environment for all visitors. Notable features include:
- Free Menstrual and Safe Sex Products: The WGRC is committed to promoting reproductive and personal health and well-being by offering free menstrual and safe sex products. The WGRC provides pads and tampons in a variety of sizes, as well as newly offered single-use menstrual discs.
- Snack Shelf: Visitors can enjoy a snack shelf, providing a convenient place to refuel during study sessions or relaxation.
- Clothing, Accessories, and Beauty Closet: The WGRC is proud to offer a small collection of clothing, shoes, accessories, and beauty products to enhance self-expression and confidence.
- Lounge Area: A cozy lounge area invites individuals to unwind, connect, and engage in meaningful conversations within a supportive community.
- Lending Library: Browse from a wide selection of titles to enjoy at your leisure. Book check-out is free with your UH ID.
- Games and Coloring Pages: Feel free to unwind by yourself or with some friends by enjoying one of our card or board games. We also have a selection of coloring pages, colored pencils, markers, and crayons for your use.
- Computers with Printing Access: Access to computers ensures that visitors have the resources they need to excel academically and professionally.

The WGRC also continues to have confidential Sexual Misconduct Support Services (SMSS). SMSS staff can meet with anyone who has been impacted by sexual violence, including sexual assault, sexual harassment, stalking, and intimate partner violence, to provide support, discuss options, and connect to resources on and off campus.
The WGRC extends a warm invitation to all University of Houston students and community members to utilize the new space for studying, relaxing, and community-building. Whether you are seeking a quiet place to focus on your academic goals, a supportive network of like-minded individuals, or simply a welcoming atmosphere, the WGRC is here to serve you.
