Tiffany Galloway joins Women and Gender Resource Center as new gender equity program manager

Tiffany Galloway has joined the Women and Gender Resource Center as its new gender equity program manager. Galloway will oversee the Center’s signature programs — including Phenomenal Woman, the annual Empower conference, and its community and discussion group, THE HIVE —manage its social media and marketing, and supervise CORE ambassadors.

“I’m thrilled to further immerse myself into the University of Houston!” Galloway said. “My first year as a doctoral student laid the foundation for all of the work I want to do within the WGRC. I look forward to working with our students, faculty, and staff to make campus a more equitable space for everyone.”

Galloway has a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in higher education with a concentration on college access and success, both from Temple University. She is currently a second-year Ph.D. student studying higher education leadership and policy studies at the University of Houston’s College of Education, where she is researching support systems for Black women and trans and nonbinary students within higher education.

Galloway said she is happy to call Houston home now, after stints in Atlanta, Georgia; Prince George’s County, Maryland; and most recently Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Galloway loves exploring the city, crocheting, trying new recipes and spending time with her cat, Lulu.

“The Women and Gender Resource Center is thrilled to welcome Tiffany Galloway to our team,” said Anneliese Bustillo, director of the Center. “Her research and passion for embedding intersectionality and equity into every program will enrich all the learning opportunities the Center provides for faculty, students, and staff. We look forward to the many collaborations she will spearhead to make the UH campus a more equitable space for all genders.”
