A.D. Bruce Religion Center goes Virtual to Provide Resources and Activities for Student Engagement

We are here!

During this time when students, faculty, staff, and other community members are working and learning from home and adjusting to our new normal, the A.D. Bruce Religion Center has created a digital platform to stay connected. "Our WE ARE HERE slogan is a regular reminder that despite our building being closed and with all the physical distancing forcing us to rethink how we stay connected, A.D. Bruce Religion Center will continue to be here for you through service, guidance, and support", said André J. Adams, Director of the A.D. Bruce Religion Center.

Virtual Office Hours

While our building may be closed, we still welcome everyone to visit with us and ask questions about scheduling events or our upcoming available dates. We have Virtual Office Hours with a live staff member Monday through Friday from 9 am – 11 am via Zoom.

Connect with a Ministry

One of the ways students stay connected with their faith, spirituality, and religious journey is their connection to any of the fifteen active ministries housed under the A.D. Bruce Religion Center umbrella. Like many others, our ministries have found a way to stay active and visible for the students who rely on their support. Ways to Pray

There is no cookie-cutter prayer formula, and prayer looks different depending on the day. Sometimes prayer is sitting in silence and waiting for a voice to speak. Sometimes prayer is praising a higher power for who they are and what they are doing. Sometimes prayer is falling on our knees and bearing our soul. Sometimes prayer is weeping. Prayer is a very personal and individualized activity and everyone has their own version of what feels right. We do provide some resources to help you think about how you can pray when it works best for you.

Learn Something New

Have you ever wondered what makes places of worship so special? Take a virtual tour through some of the most amazing worship spaces from around the world. How about exploring Yoga and practicing at your own pace or maybe even practicing Mindfulness Meditation? We would be happy to help guide you as you venture through these learning opportunities. The A.D. Bruce Religion Center is the focal point for many on-campus religious and spiritual activities. Through ongoing educational programs and activities focusing on religious issues with an emphasis on Interfaith Dialogue, AD Bruce supports 16 ministries and over 70 faith/spiritually based student organizations. In addition to providing a place for both quiet meditation and spiritual growth to the UH community.
