This updated edition is a comprehensive resource for higher education professionals, and focuses on the field of international education. Over its thirty seven chapters, the International Guide covers a range of topics including recruiting and promoting the success of international students, working with agents, establishing dual and joint degree programs, and fighting fraud. The chapter co-authored by Mapps and Patlan focuses on undocumented students and the role of higher education institutions.
The guidebook and its focus on international education certainly reflects the values and efforts of the University of Houston, particularly given that the University calls the most diverse city in the nation its home and that UH has long endeavored to welcome students, staff, and faculty from all over the world.
