Student Housing & Residential Life Student Leaders Rack Up Awards at Regional Conference

On February 14, 2015, the Residence Halls Association (RHA) and National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) attended the Southwest Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls (SWACURH) Regional "No Frills" Conference. Delegates were Lauren Potter (RHA President), Quinnashai Watts (National Communications Coordinator), Joel Goolsbay (National Communications Coordinator- In Training), and Laila Machado (NRHH President). These student leaders were joined by advisor Jackie Stelmaszczyk and graduate assistant Stephanie Hignojos.

At this conference, RHA and NRHH won several awards recognizing individuals and the school. They are as follows:

Student of the Year: Tillanye Stewart
Distinguished Service Award: Laila Machado
Building Block RHA of the Year
Fire Year Student of the Month for December 2015, Obinna Nnaji
Advisor of the Year, Jackie Stelmaszczyk

The hard work of these students has been awarded regionally and will go on to compete for the national awards. Student Housing & Residential Life is very proud of the work of these individual students, RHA, and NRHH!
