Order of Omega
Order of Omega is a leadership honor society for members of Fraternity & Sorority organizations founded in 1959 at the University of Miami. Order of Omega recognizes juniors and seniors who have exemplified high standards in the areas of scholarship, leadership, involvement within their respective organization and within the Fraternity/Sorority, campus, and local community. To date, over 570 plus chapters have been chartered throughout North America, each sharing the common goal of recognizing the many outstanding student leaders at their institution.
The Center for Fraternity & Sorority Life, Order of Omega leadership honor society at the University of Houston is the Kappa Tau chapter. Each year, the Kappa Tau chapter selects qualified members to join Order of Omega as a celebration and recognition of their leadership in their organization, the FSL community, and the greater campus community. Only up to 3% of members of the University of Houston fraternity/sorority community are eligible to join. Students must be currently enrolled, completed at least 60 credit hours, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
238 members have been initiated into the chapter. On January 28, 2021, the Kappa Tau chapter welcomed 9 new members for the fall 2020 membership class which now makes 247 members in the chapter. We would like to congratulate the 7 new undergraduate members and 2 honorary members to include:
