Wednesday, February 28, 2024

6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

The Galapagos Affair is a documentary film that explores a mysterious and dramatic series of events that took place on the Galapagos Islands in the 1930s. It follows the lives of a small group of people who settled on the remote island of Floreana, seeking solitude and an escape from the modern world. As tensions rise and conflicts erupt, the film delves into themes of human nature, identity, ambition, and the desire for freedom in a captivating and haunting narrative.

A panel discussion led by Dr. Ricardo Azevedo and Dr. Laura Bland will explore a range of topics related to the film’s themes, characters and historical context, the cinematography and storytelling, and the ethical and environmental implications of human presence and intervention in isolated ecosystems like the Galapagos Islands.
